A Personal Journey to Wellness
Between 2012 and 2015, Tekesha Garland, co-founder of Kosher Coaster, began to experience digestive issues that made enjoying her favorite foods a daily struggle. This wasn't just a matter of occasional discomfort; it was an ongoing battle with pain and the frustration of not knowing what was causing it.
After numerous doctors' visits, countless tests, and a lot of trial and error, the source of her discomfort was identified: food allergies. Gluten, dairy, sugar, and even red meats were the culprits. Foods that had once been staples in her diet suddenly became off-limits, and this drastic change forced the Garland family to rethink everything they knew about food.
From Challenge to Change
Enter Chef Cat, Tekesha's husband and the culinary genius behind Kosher Coaster. Seeing his wife struggle with her diet, he took it upon himself to craft meals that were not only safe for her to eat but also delicious and satisfying. The couple began to explore the world of gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free cooking, using only the freshest ingredients they could find. Their kitchen became a place of experimentation and healing, where they learned how to make meals that were both health-conscious and full of flavor.
As they mastered the art of cooking for dietary restrictions, they realized that they weren’t alone in this journey. Many people suffer from food-related discomfort, whether due to allergies, sensitivities, or simply wanting to eat cleaner, more wholesome foods. The Garlands wanted to share their solutions with others, and thus, in 2016, Kosher Coaster was born.
